RESPECT FOR THE STARS AND STRIPES
A TRIBUTE TO OUR FLAG IN THE UNITED STATES
The flag of the United States of America represents a living country, and therefore itself is considered a living thing. Today, we have more than two centuries of American citizens that have sacrificed greatly to allow our flag to continue to fly for our freedom. Do you know how to respect and display the flag of the United States properly? Michael Ayers will outline the latest information regarding our national emblem including recent changes to the U.S. Flag Code.
Michael was a musician in the U.S. Navy Band in Great Lakes, Illinois, whose first band director was John Phillip Sousa during World War I. One of Michael's responsibilities was orchestrating flag ceremonies for official functions.
Information compiled for this presentation will cover over 200 years of red, white, and blue history, and an interactive quiz!
